Dyes add color without a blotchy or muddy look. Dyes are used to tint topcoats to be used as toners, and dyes are used to touch up blemishes. Unlike pigmented stains that add color with finely ground organic pigments laying on the surface, Ultra Penetrating Dye stain dives into the surface and adds translucent color to wood, highlighting grain and figuring. Ultra-penetrating Dye is NGR, meaning it will not raise the grain and can be wiped or sprayed on. Colors can be mixed to achieve the right color, add reducer to less color intensity and can be added to finish to be used as a toner. Dye concentrates can be mixed with water, alcohol, acetone and finishes.
